Aglantzia

Getting there and around. Aglantzia sits in the south-eastern suburbs of Nicosia, immediately adjacent to the old city, so it is a short hop from the capital's centre rather than a separate drive. Nicosia buses 41, 42, 43 and 44 serve Aglantzia and its Municipality (Town Hall), and route 33 links Solomou Square in central Nicosia with the University of Cyprus area inside Aglantzia. Good to know. Aglantzia is home to the University of Cyprus campus and sits next to the Athalassa National Forest Park, Nicosia's largest green space, and it also carries real archaeological depth: Bronze Age tombs dated 3200-1100 BC have been found on Leontari Vouno hill within the area.Source ↗

Nearby. Aglantzia borders Nicosia to the north and shares its western edge with Strovolos, along the Nicosia-Limassol highway; Latsia lies to its south-west. Since Cyprus's 2024 local government reform, Aglantzia was folded in as a municipal district of the enlarged Nicosia municipality.Source ↗

Signature events. The Cyprus International Accordion Festival takes place in June (2026 edition: 5-7 June) in the restored Cultural Core and Old Square of Aglantzia, with open-air concerts, workshops and exhibitions. Aglantzia also hosts an annual Aglantzia Festival celebrating Cypriot music, dance and food, plus the AglanJazz festival with international jazz acts at the same old square.
