Getting there and around. Larnaca sits on the A1/A5 motorway network, roughly 40 minutes by road from Nicosia and about 45 minutes from Limassol. Intercity Buses runs direct coaches between Larnaca and Nicosia every 30 minutes, taking around 40 minutes each way, while local routes within the town are operated by Zinonas Buses.Source ↗
Good to know. The Finikoudes promenade's phoenix palm trees, which give the seafront its name, were planted during the British colonial administration in the 1920s and still line the Blue Flag beach along the town's edge today.Source ↗

Parking. Larnaca International Airport offers short-stay uncovered parking from about 1 euro for the first 20 minutes up to 12 euros for 8 to 24 hours, plus long-stay covered and uncovered lots, with pre-booking online cutting the price significantly. Several independent off-site operators near the airport, such as Park & Save and Park2Fly, run 24/7 shuttle parking a couple of kilometres from the terminal as a cheaper alternative.

Through the year. Larnaca Salt Lake fills with winter rain from around November and attracts thousands of migrating greater flamingos until roughly March, making winter the best season for birdwatching there. By summer the lake dries out almost completely, leaving a stark white salt crust, while the Finikoudes palm-lined seafront becomes the town's summer focal point for swimming and evening walks.Source ↗
Signature events. Larnaca's biggest annual event is the Kataklysmos (Festival of the Flood), held on the seafront around Pentecost in late May or early June with concerts, boat races and traditional water games.
