Getting there and around. The free Famagusta district (Paralimni-Deryneia and Protaras) sits about a 40 minute drive from Larnaca, reached via Larnaca's Metropolis Mall and New Larnaka Hospital hub. OSEA runs regional bus routes 711, 712 and 714 from Larnaca into the district, plus local routes (301 Paralimni Circle, 702/702A, 708) linking Deryneia, Frenaros, Avgorou and Protaras to central Paralimni.Source ↗

At the annual Famagusta Flower Festival in Paralimni, the parade of flower-decorated floats moves symbolically in the direction of occupied Famagusta city, a yearly reminder that the district's namesake city itself remains behind the Green Line and inaccessible to the municipality that carries its name.Source ↗

Paralimni-Deryneia municipality made all carparks in the Protaras tourist zone free of charge through the end of March 2026 to draw visitors in the quieter winter months, which implies paid or metered parking is the norm once the summer season picks up. There is no district-wide free parking guarantee outside that winter window.
