Getting there and around. Larnaca is a direct 42 to 51 minute drive from Limassol along the A5/A1 motorway corridor (about 66 to 70 km), with no tolls. Zenon urban buses connect Larnaca Airport, the city centre and Finikoudes promenade, and intercity coaches link Larnaca to Nicosia and Limassol.Source ↗

Through the year. Larnaca Salt Lake, next to the airport, fills with thousands of migratory greater flamingos each winter, arriving with the first rains around November and staying until roughly March, with peak numbers of over 20,000 birds between December and February. In summer the lake dries out and the promenade and beaches become the main draw instead.Source ↗

The Kataklysmos (Festival of the Flood) is Larnaca's largest and oldest annual celebration, held on the Foinikoudes promenade to mark Pentecost, roughly 50 days after Easter, usually late May to early June (2026 dates: 29 May to 3 June).
