Getting there and around. Agios Dometios sits about 3 to 4 kilometres west of Nicosia city centre, reachable by Cyprus Public Transport city buses including line 11, which runs directly to the Agios Dometios checkpoint area, plus routes such as line 41 that connect through to Engomi and Aglantzia. Yes, the Agios Dometios checkpoint (known as Metehan on the northern side) opened to the public in 2004 and is the only checkpoint in Nicosia that cars can cross, alongside pedestrian crossing.
About 3 to 4 kilometres, making it a short bus or taxi ride from the old town.
