About
Athalassa is the largest green space in Nicosia, a national forest park of around 840 hectares on the southeastern edge of the city, declared a national forest park in 1990. It carries more than twenty kilometres of walking and cycling trails through pine and eucalyptus, along with picnic grounds, playgrounds, a botanical garden and a lake with swans and ducks fed by the Athalassa dam. Its open ground hosts outdoor events such as the Run the Park road race.
