Good to know

01

Getting there and around. Episkopi sits about 14 km west of Limassol city (roughly a 15-20 minute drive) on the road toward Paphos, on the western bank of the Kouris River. EMEL's urban route 33 runs directly between Episkopi and Limassol Marina/Old Port, calling at Kourion Beach, Kolossi Castle and My Mall along the way, with a roughly 30-minute journey time.Source ↗

02

Good to know. Episkopi is built directly on the hill of ancient Kourion, meaning the modern village and a 3,500-seat Greco-Roman theatre used for concerts and drama today sit on the same ground, only about a kilometre apart.Source ↗

03

Nearby. Episkopi borders Erimi and Kolossi to the east, with the Akrotiri Sovereign Base Area to the south and the ancient site of Kourion just 1.3 km to its southwest; Limassol city lies about 14 km to the east.Source ↗

04

Parking. Parking at the Kourion archaeological site and Kourion Beach just outside Episkopi is free and easy in large open lots, though the visitor site itself charges a EUR 4.50 entry fee on top. In the village centre, parking is informal roadside space rather than a managed lot.

Through the year. The neighbouring Kourion archaeological site (the area's main draw) keeps longer summer hours, open 8:30am to 7:30pm from 16 April to 15 September, versus 8:30am to 5:00pm the rest of the year, reflecting the swing from a quiet winter village to a busy summer beach-and-ruins day trip.Source ↗

Signature events. Episkopi is one of the villages hosting Festival Kouriou, the Kourion Municipality's summer cultural programme (July to September) of free open-air music, cinema and theatre nights, alongside occasional classical performances and drama at the nearby Curium Ancient Theatre.Source ↗
