About
The Kourion Ancient Theatre is the Greco-Roman theatre at the Kourion archaeological site, set on a bluff above the sea a few kilometres southwest of Episkopi in the Limassol district. First cut in the second century BC and rebuilt by the Romans, its restored curved auditorium seats around 3,500 and is known for its open-air acoustics. Managed by the Department of Antiquities, it is one of the island's great summer stages, hosting the International Festival of Ancient Greek Drama, opera and open-air theatre.
