Getting there and around. Agios Tychonas sits on the coast just east of central Limassol and is served by EMEL bus Route 25, which runs from Leontiou A' bus station in Limassol along Makariou Avenue and Amathountos Avenue into the village. Route 26 also connects it to neighbouring Mouttagiaka and back to Leontiou station.Source ↗
Good to know. The village is named after Saint Tychon, a 5th-century bishop of the ancient city-kingdom of Amathus, whose ruins sit right on the Agios Tychonas coastline. Amathus was one of ancient Cyprus's major royal city-kingdoms and home to the second most important sanctuary of Aphrodite on the island, after Paphos.Source ↗
Nearby. Agios Tychonas borders Mouttagiaka to the west, Armenochori to the north and Parekklisia to the east, and sits within the wider Amathounta Municipality just east of Limassol itself.Source ↗
Through the year. Agios Tychonas runs at full tourist intensity in summer, when its seven EU Blue Flag beaches, water-sports operators and the 6-kilometre coastal walkway from Poseidonia Hotel to the Saint Barbara chapel draw the biggest crowds. In winter the same walkway and beachfront are quiet, with far fewer visitors and reduced beach-facility operating hours.
