Getting there and around. Paralimni is reached from Larnaca via OSEA regional bus lines 711, 712 and 714 (roughly 40-45 minutes by car, about 48 km). Within the area, OSEA's local Route 301 Paralimni Circle Line and Route 102 connect the town centre to Protaras, Pernera and Ayia Napa.Source ↗

Nearby. Paralimni sits in the Famagusta district about 10 km south of Famagusta town, and functions as the commuter hub for the nearby resort areas of Ayia Napa and Protaras. It is administratively joined with neighbouring Deryneia in the Paralimni-Deryneia Municipality.Source ↗

Through the year. Paralimni's namesake lake is fed only by winter rainfall and stays dry the rest of the year, so it fills between November and March and attracts migratory birds including flamingos, herons and plovers, then evaporates into a cracked-earth plain by summer.Source ↗

Signature events. The Paralimnia Festival runs from late June into mid-July, organised by Paralimni Municipality, and centres on local cultural heritage with traditional wedding customs, choral and mandolin performances, and philharmonic concerts. The municipality also runs a Cultural Winter programme of concerts and poetry readings from November to April.
