About
Fig Tree Bay is Protaras' best-known beach, a Blue Flag stretch of golden sand and clear water in the resort town of Paralimni, named for a solitary fig tree said to have stood here since the seventeenth century. The square and promenade behind the beach form the resort's open-air gathering space, and events listed here take place around it, among them the start of a Famagusta-district road race. It is the busy, family-holiday heart of the Protaras coast.
