About Panagia Chryseleousa Church
Panagia Chryseleousa is the main church of Lysos village, in the Paphos district, built in the late 15th or early 16th century. It combines Byzantine and Gothic elements, including a dome and arches, in what is known as the Franco-Byzantine style. Both of its doors are decorated with Frankish coats of arms, and the sanctuary apse follows a Gothic design. Inside, an old Byzantine fresco in the prothesis niche depicts the Panagia Kykkotissa.
