About Panagia & Chrysosotiros Church
The Church of Panagia and Chrysosotiros in Kyperounta is a two-aisled, wooden-roofed basilica that stands where two separate older churches, one to the Virgin Mary and one to Chrysosotiros (Christ the Golden Saviour), once stood side by side before being united into one building. During the Venetian period it served both Orthodox and Catholic worshippers. Its sanctuary, templon and some icons were kept from the earlier churches, and it sits in a landscaped park with a stream and bridge.
