About Church of the Virgin Maria to Amiantos
This small basilica-style chapel to the Virgin Mary sits beside a bridge over the Ouria river, on the border between Amiantos and Pelendri in the Troodos mountains. Built in 1990 with a wooden roof and a plain iron bell tower in its courtyard, it hosts one fixed annual event: on Thomas Sunday, an old icon of the Virgin kept in Pelendri is carried here in procession for a divine liturgy.
