About Grigoris Afxentiou
This museum marks the hideout of Grigoris Afxentiou, one of the most prominent EOKA fighters in the 1955-59 struggle against British rule, killed in action near the Monastery of Machairas in 1957. The site preserves the underground shelter where he made his final stand and displays material on the anti-colonial campaign.
