About Gourri Palia Vrisi Trail
The Palia Vrysi (Old Fountain) trail starts at the traditional stone fountain in Gourri village, in the Pitsilia hills, and runs about 3km to the Mavritsio waterfall, a walk of roughly an hour. The path follows the river bed, crossing it eleven times over small wooden footbridges, and passes outcrops of basaltic rock alongside dry-stone field walls typical of the area. It is rated an easy to moderate walk suited to most fitness levels.
