About Mantra tou Kampiou Circuit
This Forestry Department trail runs through the Machairas Forest in the Nicosia district, starting on the Machairas-Kionia road about a kilometre before the Kionia picnic site and climbing southwest to the Mantra tou Kambiou picnic area near the Kakokefalos peak. It covers about 5.5km and takes around 2.5 hours, rated moderately difficult. Along the way it passes the ruins of an old mantra, a stone livestock enclosure, and an abandoned forest station, with wide views opening over the Mesaoria plain.
