About Saint John Monastery
The monastery of Timios Prodromos (Saint John the Forerunner), known as Mesa Potamos, stands in Troodos forest near Moniatis village, in the Limassol district. An 18th century Russian traveller, Barsky, described it as set between mountains covered in pine woods, with a pleasant spring of water and close to a stream. It is open daily from 08:30 to 18:30. No further detail on its founding or architecture could be confirmed.
