About Church of Agios Arsenios
Church of Agios Arsenios rises above Kyperounta village in the Troodos mountains, its construction begun in March 2002. The design revives the five-aisled, wood-roofed basilica form used in Cyprus from the fourth to seventh centuries, built from local stone with roof timbers from the Pindos mountains. Inside, 124 pillars support a 22-metre ceiling, and a 34-metre belfry with 135 steps holds five bells cast in Epirus.
