About Panagia Aggeloktisti
Panagia Angeloktisti stands in Kiti near Larnaca, its domed cross-in-square structure raised in the 11th or 12th century over the ruins of a 5th-century basilica. In the apse survives a 6th-century mosaic of the Virgin and Child flanked by the archangels Michael and Gabriel on a gold ground, among the best-preserved early Christian mosaics on the island. The church is on UNESCO's tentative World Heritage list, submitted in 2015.
