About Tremithos Dam
The dam sits about two kilometres northeast of Tersefanou village, within the village's administrative boundary, on the Tremithos river in the Larnaca district. It was built for irrigation, storing water that is distributed to around 663 hectares of vegetable farmland in the area. In the past the Tremithos supplied water to Larnaca itself, carried by an aqueduct whose stone arches, the Kamares, still stand in the town today.
