About Cape Kiti Lighthouse
The lighthouse at Cape Kiti, near the village of Perivolia south of Larnaca, was built in 1864 and stands about 22 metres tall on a promontory close to the shore. It guided shipping for over a century before being decommissioned in 1982. The Cyprus Ports Authority and the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute, working with the local municipality and Larnaca's tourism board, are converting the site into an ocean-literacy interpretation centre.
