About New church of Agios Georgios, Peyia
Built in cruciform Byzantine style with a central dome and twin corner belfries, this stone church in Peyia was inaugurated on 4 October 1952 by Bishop Fotios of Paphos. It stands beside an earlier chapel dedicated to the same saint, on ground with a much older pilgrimage history. The newer church has become one of Paphos district's most visited places of worship, drawing visitors well beyond the local Orthodox congregation to its daily services.
