About Moni Agiou Mina
Moni Agiou Mina sits on the Maroniou river between the villages of Kato Drys and Vavla, in the Lefkara hills. Its founding date is unknown, but the earliest record dates to the late Venetian period, and it survived into Ottoman rule with an 18th-century restoration under Abbot Parthenios. In 1965, eight nuns from Agios Georgios Alamanos re-established it as a convent; today twelve nuns live there under Abbess Magdalini, part of the Metropolis of Trimithous since 2007.
