About Choirokoitia Remains
Choirokoitia is a Neolithic settlement on a hillside partly enclosed by a loop of the Maroni River, about six kilometres from Cyprus's south coast. Occupied from roughly 7000 to 5200 BC, it is considered the best-preserved Pre-Pottery Neolithic site on the island, with circular stone houses and burials placed beneath their floors. Five dwellings have been reconstructed on site using the original building methods. UNESCO inscribed it as a World Heritage Site in 1998.
