About Local Archaeological Museum of Marion-Arsinoe
This neoclassical museum in Polis Chrysochous opened in 1998 to house finds from ancient Marion, a city-kingdom on this stretch of coast with close trade ties to Classical Athens. Renamed Arsinoe under Hellenistic-Roman rule, the site became the seed of modern Polis. Across two rooms and an atrium, the collection runs chronologically from the Neolithic through the medieval period, with a second room devoted to finds from the area's extensive necropolis. Entry is free.
