About Panagia Theotokou Church
The Church of Panagia Theotokou stands at the centre of Kalavasos village, built around 1892 from stone quarried in neighbouring Tochni. The cross-shaped church seats roughly 300 worshippers and is also known locally as Panagia Tithiotissa. Inside, a carved wooden iconostasis holds icons of the twelve apostles beneath a crucifixion scene, and the women's gallery uses built-in stone seating rather than wood.
