About Yeşilyurt Fatih Cami
This building at the entrance to Yeşilyurt village, near Lefke in the north of the island, was built in 1961 as the Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Nicholas on the Güzelyurt-Lefke road. After the island's division in 1974 it was repurposed as a mosque and took its current name, Yeşilyurt Fatih Camii, in 1977. It remains one of the first structures visitors see entering the village.
