About St. Rafail
The church of Saint Rafail stands in the village of Pachyammos in the Tillyria region, built by local tradition after Saint Rafail performed a miracle for a resident there. Built in Byzantine style with a carved wooden iconostasis and a frescoed interior, it draws visitors from across Cyprus each year. Rafail is honoured two days after Easter, counted among the Neomartyrs of Cyprus following the 1453 fall of Constantinople.
