About Panagia Evangelistria Church
Panagia Evangelistria stands at the centre of Kathikas village in the Paphos hills as the village's main church, a stone-built structure with arched openings and a richly decorated interior, raised in 1870 on the ruins of an earlier chapel dedicated to the village's own Saint Ipatios. Every 25 March it hosts Kathikas's Annunciation feast, and on Good Friday villagers re-enact the Passion, processing from the Agios Onouphrios chapel to this church, one of the Paphos district's best-known Holy Week customs.
