About Former Monastery Timios Stavros
This single-nave church, its ceiling vaulted beneath a tall dome, was built during Frankish rule on the foundations of an earlier Early Christian basilica in Anogyra, and dates to the 14th century. Weathered interior frescoes survive from that period. Only the church itself and fragments of its monastic buildings remain; the surrounding cells have collapsed into ruin, leaving little trace of the wider monastery that once stood here.
