About Achyronas Liopetriou
The Achyronas of Liopetri stands at the centre of the village, rebuilt as a memorial and exhibition space around the site of a major EOKA battle fought here on 2 September 1958. Statues of the fighters who died were erected on the spot after Cyprus's independence, and the reconstructed building keeps the story of the battle for later generations.
