About Metropolis of Tamassos and Oreini
Episkopeio village is the seat of the Metropolis of Tamassos and Oreini, one of the Church of Cyprus's oldest dioceses, tracing its first bishop to Saint Herakleidios. Abolished under Frankish rule, the diocese was later restored, its seat moving from Politiko to Pano Deftera before settling at Episkopeio's cathedral. Metropolitan Isaias has led it since 2007.
