About Agios Maurikios
Agios Maurikios sits on a small hill east of Pissouri's Linidion plain. The present building was funded by the Periklis Stasi family on the site of an older church, then enlarged and enclosed in 2001 at the village's expense. It is barrel-vaulted and stone-clad outside, plain within. Local tradition holds that soil from inside the chapel, made into a paste, can treat skin ailments; services are held on 21 November and the Tuesday of Pentecost.
