Agios Georgios
A 16th-century chapel near Akrotiri, close to the Achaios shipwreck.

About Agios Georgios
A kilometre southwest of Akrotiri village on Limassol's coast, this single-aisled stone chapel dates to the 16th century, built with a pointed stone arch and a floor of traditional Cypriot stucco. Faint wall paintings inside still show traces of Saint George, the chapel's namesake. It stands close to the wreck of the Achaios, a stretch of shoreline now better known for that shipwreck than for the small church tucked nearby.
