About Lady's Mile Beach
Lady's Mile runs for about 5 kilometres along the Akrotiri peninsula between Limassol and the RAF base, its dark, gently shelving sand backed by the Akrotiri Salt Lake roughly 1.5 kilometres inland. The lake is one of Europe's significant wetlands, drawing migrating birds each winter, including flocks of greater flamingos that can number in the thousands; the birds sometimes move to Lady's Mile's own shallow pools when the lake runs too deep. Toilets, showers, and lifeguards cover the beach April to October.
