About
The Rialto is Limassol's landmark theatre, on Heroes Square in the old town. Built in 1930 as the first modern cinema in Cyprus, it fell into disuse, was bought and restored by the local cooperative bank, and reopened in 1999 as a performing-arts venue. It now stages theatre, dance, music, opera and film, and is home to several annual festivals run with the state cultural services, including Cyprus Film Days.
