About The Big church of Holy Cross
The Church of the Holy Cross (Timios Stavros) is the main parish church of Pedoulas, a village in the Troodos mountains, Nicosia district. Built between 1933 and 1935 on the site of an earlier wooden church, it has a cross-domed plan with twin bell towers. The wooden iconostasis carries icons from earlier periods, and the church keeps a silver-clad wooden cross from the 17th century and a reliquary said to hold a fragment of the True Cross.
