This Panagia Chryseleousa stands in the hill village of Pano Akourdaleia in the Paphos district, a single-nave barrel-vaulted church raised in the 16th century, one of roughly 22 Cypriot churches of that period rebuilt on an earlier core, in this case likely dating to the 12th century. Its vault carries decorative cross-ribs and pointed blind arches, and the walls were once covered edge to edge in frescoes, of which only 12th-century fragments survive under later plaster. The church was repaired after 1995 earthquake damage and remains in use.
