About Makronissos Beach
Makronissos Beach sits five kilometres east of Ayia Napa, where three small coves of fine golden sand face west, southwest and southeast around a shared headland. The water stays calm and clear, sheltered by the shape of the bays. It shares its name and site with the Makronissos Tombs next door, a Hellenistic and Roman necropolis of 19 rock-cut chambers excavated in 1989, so a swim here pairs easily with a walk through the archaeology.
