About Hoja Mill Museum Akaki
The Hoja (Hodjia) Mill in Akaki was a water-powered mill built on an estate belonging to Savva Kako. When it passed to his grandsons, it grew into a working complex: mills for wheat and coarse wheat, animal feed, a cotton gin and an olive press. The equipment was destroyed in the intercommunal troubles of 1963. The building has since been restored and converted into a museum in the village centre, preserving the site's milling history for visitors.
