About Church of Saints Barnabas and Hilarion
The Church of Saints Barnabas and Hilarion stands in Peristerona, on the west bank of the Serrachis river, built in the 9th or 10th century as an outstanding example of Cypriot Byzantine architecture. Its five domes are arranged in a cross, and part of the original north wall survives inside the later structure. The oldest wall paintings date to the 15th and 16th centuries. The church is on Cyprus's UNESCO World Heritage tentative list.
