About Achna Forest Refugee Park
In the Dasaki, the small forest opposite Achna's community council in the Famagusta district, some 80,000 people sheltered after the Turkish invasion of August 1974. Each year a thematic park recreates that refuge as part of the Pan-Cypriot Refugee Meeting, with stacks of worn clothing, tinned food and an old British-base water tanker standing in for how supplies once reached the displaced.
