About
Palaio GSP, the Old GSP, is the site of Nicosia's original stadium, which served as the capital's main sports ground from 1902 until the late 1970s and staged football and large concerts for a crowd of thousands just outside the Venetian walls. After the stadium moved out in 1978 the ground was cleared and reworked into an open public square. On Cyprus Now it hosts the municipality's free Summer Nights programme of music and culture.
