About
The Ledra Palace is a landmark 1949 hotel on the edge of old Nicosia, once the city's most glamorous address. Since 1974 it has stood inside the UN buffer zone that divides the capital, taken over by the peacekeeping force and used ever since for accommodation, high-level talks on the Cyprus problem and civil-society meetings that bring the two communities together. It appears here for the bicommunal cultural and academic events held on that neutral ground, such as panels on the Cypriot dialect.
