Screening of BBC Documentary Master Photographers: Bill Brandt

As part of the “Thursdays at Fotodos” events, supported by the Department of Contemporary Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture, Fotodos presents, in collaboration with the BBC, the documentary “Bill Brandt” from the Master Photographers series (1983).

The 35-minute episode is a BBC TV production, produced by Peter Adam. Bill Brandt (1904–1983) was a major figure in 20th-century British photography, known for his atmospheric and often cryptic images. In this rare insight, Brandt shows some of his favourite photographs, among them pictures of Paris in the 1920s, his compassionate scenes of Britain during the Depression, his nudes, and many distinguished portraits.
