World Cleanup Day is a Culture & Community event at Lady’s Mile, Limassol on Saturday, 19 September 2026 from 08:00 to 12:00.
To mark World Cleanup Day, volunteers are meeting at Lady’s Mile, next to Akrotiri Salt Lake, for an organised cleanup at an important site for migratory birds.
With the salt lake currently dry, the initiative offers an opportunity to remove litter and other debris before the water and wildlife return to the area.
Music, ice cream, coffee, homemade lemonade and iced tea will accompany the cleanup, while each participant will also receive a complimentary T-shirt.
