Art Explora Festival at Limassol Marina

The Cultural Odyssey of the Mediterranean makes a stop in Limassol.

Limassol Marina is proud to welcome the Art Explora Festival this year, an itinerant exhibition that travels the seas aboard the world’s first museum-ship, in collaboration with the Musée du Louvre, offering an innovative artistic and cultural experience free of charge and open to all visitors in 15 countries across the Mediterranean.

From October 25 th to November 4 th , the museum ship will dock at Limassol Marina and bring together artists and curators, as well as cultural and educational organisations for a 10-day exhibition aboard the ship itself, as well as in various venues across Limassol. Visits to the iconic ship-museum will be available until the 2 nd of November.

The boat itself is a 47-meter-long, 55-meter-high catamaran offering unique immersive experiences to the public. It has already made its way across the Mediterranean, stopping in Malta, Italy, France, Morocco, Spain, Greece and many more countries, with Limassol, Cyprus as its final port.

On board, visitors can enjoy the Mediterranean Sound Journey, an audio experience focusing on the richness and diversity of the Mediterranean, as well as a virtual reality immersion that takes the public on a journey through lost archaeological wonders of the Mediterranean.

A diverse cultural program will take also place in the city of Limassol from the 2 nd of November until it’s departure on the 4 th of November, unfolding on the waterfront and spreading across the historic center, inviting members of the public to stroll, gather, and reflect on the city’s history, highlighting the diversity of Limassol’s communities through the mediums of music, theater, visual arts, dance and cinema.

The first part of the Art Explora Festival will take place exclusively on board the museum-ship, with exhibitions running until November 2 nd , while the remaining two days will feature events around town. The grand opening of the event will take place at Limassol Marina on October 25 th at 16:00.
