A Romantic Walk in Athens Sunday 30 August 2026 Sarah's Jazz Club

This musical event focuses on the Greek “light song” tradition of the 1930s–1960s, which flourished in Athens. The programme brings together beloved songs by renowned artists and composers such as Attik, Nikos Gounaris, Mary Lo, Jenny Vanou, Danae Stratigopoulou and Sofia Vembo.

Inspired by the atmosphere of the old bouats and café-chantants, the performance creates a warm, nostalgic and romantic journey through swing, jazz, tango and waltz melodies.

Artists

Maria Flouri – Vocals Cypriot singer with experience in Greek traditional, rebetiko and light music. She has performed in Cyprus and internationally, including musical events in the Netherlands, and has collaborated with various artists and projects.

Giorgos Pasmas – Guitar Cypriot musician and graduate of the University of Macedonia, specialising in the three-string bouzouki. He has performed internationally with orchestras and at festivals in Greece, Romania and China. Since 2024, he has been active in Cyprus, collaborating with local and international artists.

Elina Georgiou – Clarinet Cypriot clarinetist whose work combines Western classical training with the musical traditions of Cyprus, Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean. She has studied internationally, including at the Manhattan School of Music, and has performed in international music programmes.
