About
Stroumpi is a wine village in the centre of the Paphos district, about fifteen kilometres inland from Paphos on the road toward Polis, and one of the island's larger wine-making villages. Its best-known event is the Dionysia, a wine festival named for Dionysus with roots going back to a 1967 grape celebration: winery stalls and tastings, souvla, folk music and dancing and the old grape-crushing. When Stroumpi appears here it is usually for a festival night on the village stage.
